Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer: 1944 -2016
The Gist: Keith Emerson was a founder, keyboardist, and one-third of the eponymous progressive rock group Emerson, Lake and Palmer, whose 1970 recording of Lucky Man is a classic rock staple and featured Emerson’s Moog synthesizer work. The Santa Monica police department is investigating Emerson’s death at home as a suicide.
